LAHORE: Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz held on Monday interviews of over a dozen police officers for postings in Faisalabad, Sargodha, Sheikhpura, Dera Ghazi Khan, Bhakkar, Bahawalpur and Lodhran districts. Two of them were of DIG ranks while others were SSPs and SPs who were considered for the postings as City Police Officer (CPO) Faisalabad, DPOs of Sargodha, Sheikhpura, DG Khan, Bhakkar, Bahawalpur, Mandi Bahauddin and Lodhran. An official told Dawn the police officers who were interviewed by the CM included DIG legal Kamran Adil and DIG Ghazi Salahuddin. He said the SSPs who appeared for interviews were Asad Sarfraz Khan, Ismail ur Rehman, Asad Ijaz Malhi, Zahid Nawaz Marwat, Dr Rizwan Ahmad Khan, Billal Zafar Sheikh and Kamran Mumtaz, while SPs were Ahmad Mahuddin, Syed Ali, Imran Ahmad Malik, Abdullah Lak, Mustansar Atta Bajwa and Quddus Baig. The official said some seats of DPOs were lying vacant, adding that some police officers were going to join promotion courses. IGP Usman Anwar and additional chief secretary home Noorul Ameen Mengal were also part of the interview panel beside other senior officers concerned.
