Drug Free Punjab campaign: Punjab Police crackdown against the drug dealers continues across the province

During the last 24 hours, 235 raided were conducted across the province, 103 accused were arrested, 99 cases were registered, spokesman of Punjab Police

Under the directions of Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, police teams are doing operations against drug dealers across the province in reference of "Drug Free Punjab". IGP Punjab said that intelligence-based operations against accused involved in drug supply chain, online business have been speeded up. Spokesman of Punjab Police said that during the last 24 hours, raids were conducted on 235 hideouts of drug dealers across the province including Lahore. 103 accused involved in the heinous drug trade were arrested while 99 cases were registered. 71 kg of charas, 03 kg of heroin, 01 kg of Ice and 1789 liters of liquor were recovered from the possession of the accused.

Spokesman of Punjab Police further said that 18314 raids were conducted on the hideouts of drug dealers during the special crackdown since February 26. 8596 cases were registered against the accused involved in drug trade and 9097 accused were arrested. 5991 kg of charas, 31 kg of Ice, 103 kg of heroin, 216 kg of opium, 114584 liters of liquor were also recovered from the possession of the accused. IGP Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar directed the RPOs, DPOs to continue operations against the menace of drugs, targeted operations should be accelerated by marking drug hotspot areas in all districts. Dr. Usman Anwar directed that strict action should be ensured against those who are involved in supply chain and poison drugs in educational institutions.
