NAROWAL: Sialkot police on Wednesday registered a case against 30 people for allegedly torturing a young man over a petty issue, arresting five of the suspects, after a video clip of the violent incident surfaced on social media. Amir Atif, a resident of Kotli Loharan, Sialkot, complained to the police that Raheel Butt subjected him to torture, along with 25-30 others. He said the suspects slapped and punched him for using harsh words against Raheel Butt. Taking notice of the incident, District Police Officer (DPO) Muhammad Hasan Iqbal, ordered arrest of the suspects. On the DPO’s order, Kotli Loharan police registered an FIR against 30 suspects, including Raheel Butt, on the complaint of Amir.Police spokesperson Inspector Nauman Ahmad says five of the suspects have been arrested and the matter is being investigated.
